These General Purpose Brass Gate Valves are rated for use with mains pressure, unlike ball valves they can be adjusted more accurately if you want a particular level of flow. They are most commonly used to shut off sections of pipe to allow repair, replacement or removal of parts that need servicing. Other than for use with water mains connections, these valves can also be used on water tank installations so the pump can easily be removed or the water supply can easily be shut off.
